Lightfighter Anonymous is excited to host our first events of 2026, the Lightfighter Basic and Lightfighter Challenge . This will be a two part event, hosted in one single weekend. You can attend either event or BOTH!

Lightfighter Basic
Link-Up Period Begins: 1500 Friday March 20
Community campout available onsite Friday night.

Group will step off together on a 5-8 mile movement with designated training stations.
ENDEX: (estimate) 2200 Saturday March 22
Patrol will conclude within walking distance of parking area for those unable to camp.
The Lightfighter Basic is a 5-8 mile learning focused group patrol with designated training stops throughout. The patrol will end in a learning focused patrol base, where we will field camp for the night.
Designated members of our community have volunteered to cover ‘lightfighter’ skill stations including, basic patrol formations, traveling/movement techniques, action on contact, field ropes/rappelling, field radio, pen and paper land nav, and basic medical/medivac. This patrol will end in a mock patrol base, where we will learn an individual/two man fighting position discuss priorities of work, and then make a camp fire. For those interested, there will be ample night conditions to share/discuss night optics.
Expectations for the patrol are to arrive on time, have a good attitude, and carry your fighting load and rucksack as you would on an FTX. Some members have been asked to teach specific portions of the patrol, however all members of LFA are asked to be informal leaders and educators.
Pack as you would for an FTX lasting 24 hours. Blank ammunition is NOT REQUIRED, however we WILL be using blank fires during the contact drill portion of the event.

Lightfighter Challenge
Link-Up Period Begins: 1500 Friday March 20
Arrive early for Friday night community campout, or Saturday Lightfighter Basic. (not required)
Link-Up Period Ends: 0600 Sunday March 22
All participants MUST be on site by 0600. NO LATE ARRIVALS.

Course will be briefs to participants, and buddy teams will step off.
ENDEX: (estimate) 1200 Sunday March 22
The Lightfighter Challenge is buddy team event. You and your battle buddy will step off on on unknown distance ruck throughout the Ozark hills with your battle rattle and a 35lbs dry rucksack. Teams will be given coordinates to stations where they will be checked for safety, ruck weight, and equipment.
Each station will offer a lightfighter related challenge to participants that will allow them to earn overall time reductions for success. After each challenge, lightfighters will be given a coordinate to the next station.
Challenges will consist of many topics covered the previous day in the Lightfighter Basic. All equipment that is required to complete the challenges will be provided at the station. Brush up on your ranger handbook, ropes and knots, pen and paper land nav, and field med!
Participants are expected to attend with a good attitude and a moderate to high level of fitness. If you are unable to complete the previous days patrol you will be unable to complete this challenge. Participants must carry a 35lbs dry ruck, a fighting rifle, and LBE w/ 6mags, water, compass, and an IFAK minimum. No blank or live ammunition is required.
